FAQ

Why do I need video?
80% of all internet users regularly watch video – fact! Increasingly, websites are becoming vehicles for video content. A good web video allows consumers to “meet” you before making a purchasing decision, and gives you the opportunity to reveal what makes your business or product unique. Static, impersonal websites no longer cut it. More and more, people want a “human face” they can relate to. That’s where we come in.

How does it work?
If the client is local, we meet face to face to discuss your project. We discuss style, content, script (if there is one) and anything else that needs to be addressed. After that, we come to your place of business or the chosen location on the appointed shoot day. For a short web video (1-2 minutes), about 1-2 hours of shooting time is normal, including set-up. Your video can be ready in as little as 1-3 days.

What do you charge?
Prices vary depending on the nature of the job, and your budget. But as a general rule of thumb, about $600 per “finished” minute of video is normal. We offer several value packages which bundle shooting and editing services for greater economy. We also offer a la Carte video services which include:
Shooting - $125/hour (min 2 hours) or $500/day (based on an 8-hour day)
Video editing - $75/hr, depending on turnaround time (min charge 2 hours)
Of course, your project may require special pricing and we are always glad to be flexible and provide you with a custom quote.

When do I pay?
Regarding payment, we always require a deposit equal to one half of the total to get started. The second half will be due once you have approved the final draft of the video and before it is delivered to you. After delivery, any future changes to the video would result in additional charges.

What kind of equipment do you use?

We use professional grade Panasonic digital video cameras (Standard and Hi-Def) capable of shooting variable frame rates (60i, 30p, 24p) and aspect ratios (4:3 and 16:9). Bogen fluid head tripod, Lowel lighting kit and Sennheiser G2 wireless lavalier microphones are all standard equipment we use to capture the best quality images and sound. Post-production is finished with Final Cut Pro Studio. Whatever your job demands, LookHere will always have the appropriate equipment.

Will I have any input on the edit?

Yes. We will email lower resolution drafts to you for review, and then we can talk on the phone or via email. After that we arrange for delivery. LookHere covers regular mail costs with you (the client) handling any Fedex or UPS shipments, if necessary.

How long should my video be?

That’s up to you of course, but experience tells us that for a non-captive audience, 1-2 minutes is really optimal. Brevity and clarity of purpose is the key (the who, what, where, and why). It’s best not to try to do too much in a single video.
